HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, SECTION 116

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO APPLY FOR AN ORDER FOR STOPPING-UP OF PARTS OF THE A3054 IN THE AREA OF WATCHINGWELL, NEWPORT, ISLE OF WIGHT

Notice is given that the Isle of Wight Council intends to make an application to the Magistrates’ Court sitting at Quay Street, Newport, Isle of Wight, on 12 May 2006, for an Order that the highway in the district of Newport, in the county of Isle of Wight, in the area of Watchingwell on the A3054 being the road from Newport to Yarmouth, the position of which is indicated on the plan which may be inspected without payment at Glanvilles Solicitors, The Courtyard, Monks Brook, St Cross Business Park, Newport, Isle of Wight PO30 5BF, on Monday to Friday, between the hours 9.00 am to 4.30 pm and is represented by the part outlined in pink, shall be stopped up in the following manner:

The said highway shall no longer be adopted by the local authority and the ownership of the said highway shall be returned to private ownership.

Any person who would be aggrieved by the making of the said Order may appear before the Court and make objections or representations thereto. Any person intending to attend the hearing of the application is requested to inform us quoting Ref HC/13728-169, before the date of the hearing of their intention to appear.
