PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF AN APPLICATION MADE UNDER REGULATION 17 OF THE POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (ENGLAND AND WALES) REGULATIONS 2000
INTEGRATED POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL

Notice is hereby given that Biffa Waste Services Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a variation to the installation’s Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) permit to allow the operation of two IMW landfill gas fuelled electricity generators and to extend the installation boundary to encompass the location of these generators. The installation is located at North Herts Landfill Site, off Bedford Road, Ickleford, near Hitchin, Hertfordshire, in the district of North Herefordshire, in the county of Hertfordshire. Information relating to the above IPPC variation application to operate the electricity generators at North Herts Landfill Site is held in registers at the following locations: Environment Agency, Apollo Court, 2 Bishops Square Business Park, St Albans Road West, Hatfield AL10 9EX; and North Hertfordshire District Council, Council Offices, Gernon Road, Letchworth SG6 3JF. Members of the public can inspect these registers, free of charge, at the above-stated addresses during normal office hours. In addition, members of the public who wish to obtain a copy of the relevant information contained in the registers can do so upon the payment of a reasonable charge to cover the costs of copying. Any objections or representations to the above IPPC application should be made in writing to the Environment Agency at the address below, within 28 days from the date of this public notice: Environment Agency, Authorisation Team, Bromholme Lane, Brampton, Huntingdon PE28 4NE. Any such objections or representations will be entered into a public register unless the person making them requests in writing that they should not be so placed. If there is such a request, the register will only include a statement that there has been a request.
