KENSINGTON CHURCH STREET—REVIEW OF WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS AND BUS STOP LOCATIONS

1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) proposes to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. 2. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Order would be to vary to the Waiting and Loading restrictions in Kensington Church Street as detailed in the Schedule to this notice. These changes are being proposed with the intention of reducing bus journey times and variability, improving access for buses to bus stops, and reducing delays to other vehicles using Kensington Church Street. 3. The general effect of the Bus Stop Clearway Revocation Order would be, following a review of bus stops in this area, to revoke three existing Bus Stop Clearways in Kensington Church Street between its junction with Kensington High Street and Campden Grove. Two of these stops would be relocated as detailed in paragraph 5 below. 4. Copies of the proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders can be inspected at the Town Hall, Hornton Street, London W8 7NX, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive. 5. Further notice is hereby given that the Council propose to relocate two existing Bus Stop Clearways in Kensington Church Street to the following locations: Kensington Church Street, the north-east side, from a point 9 metres north-west of the north-western kerbline of York House Place, north-westward, for a distance of 23 metres. Kensington Church Street, the south-west side, from a point 1.5 metres north-west of the common boundary of Nos 13 and 15 Kensington Church Street, north-westward, for a distance of 19 metres. These Bus Stop Clearways would operate at all times. Stopping by any vehicles except buses within the Clearway markings would be prohibited at any time. 6. Persons desiring to object to the proposals, or make any other representations in respect of them, should send a statement in writing to that effect, and in the case of an objection, stating the grounds thereof to the Council’s agents in this matter, the Project Centre, Saffron Court, 14 b St Cross Street, London EC1N 8XA, quoting Ref PCL/TMO/RDH/3221710122 by 16 December 2005. 7. Under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any letter you write in response to this notice may be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.
