ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE A201 GLA ROAD (SOUTHWARK) PRESCRIBED ROUTES TRAFFIC ORDER 2005

1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that it intends to make the above named Order under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
2. The general nature and effect of the Order would be:

(a) to impose one-way systems for vehicles—

(i) in a south-easterly direction in London Road, except for buses, dial-a-ride buses and pedal cycles;
(ii) in a clockwise direction in the north-west, north-east and south-east arms of St George’s Circus;

(b) to ban vehicles proceeding in London Road or St George’s Circus from entering Lambeth Road, except for buses, dial-a-ride buses and pedal cycles;
(c) to ban vehicles from entering the south-west arm of St George’s Circus, except for buses, dial-a-ride buses and pedal cycles travelling on the bus only-route between London Road and Westminster Bridge Road/St George’s Circus (north-west arm) in a north-westerly direction;
(d) to ban vehicles proceeding in London Road from entering Princess Street, except for pedal cycles using the south-westbound cycle lane in Princess Street.

3. The roads which would be affected by the Order are A201 London Road and St George’s Circus.
4. A copy of the Order, a statement of Transport for London’s reasons for the proposals, a map indicating the location and effect of the Order and copies of any Order revoked, suspended or varied by the Order can be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of: Transport for London, Traffic Orders Team, Road Network Development, Faith Lawson House, 15-17 Dacre Street, London SW1H 0DJ; London Borough of Southwark, Council Offices, Chiltern House, Portland Street, London SE17 2ES.
5. All objections and other representations to the proposed Order must be made in writing and must specify the grounds on which they are made. Objections and representations must be sent to Transport for London, Street Management, Windsor House, 42-50 Victoria Street, London SW1H 0TL, quoting Ref TASS/AD/SF/TO, GLA/2005/014, to arrive before 2 December 2005. Objections and other representations may be communicated to other persons who may be affected.
