Caythorpe Gas Storage Limited
NOTICE OF PROPOSALS FOR A STORAGE AUTHORISATION ORDER UNDER SECTION 4(1) OF PART II OF THE GAS ACT 1965
Caythorpe Gas Storage Limited (Company Registration No 5283117) whose registered office is at suite 15 Wellesbourne House, Walton Road, Wellesbourne, Warwick CV35 9JB, hereby gives notice, pursuant to the requirements of paragraph 4(1) of Part II of Schedule 2 to the Gas Act 1965, that on 5 August 2005, it made a preliminary submission of proposals to the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry for the making of a Storage Authorisation Order in respect of a gas storage scheme at Caythorpe in East Yorkshire) (“the Scheme”). A copy of the proposals and the accompanying map can be viewed at the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Planning Department Offices at County Hall, Beverley or the Town Hall, Quay Street, Bridlington and at Bridlington Library, King Street, Bridlington YO15 3DF. The surface area of the storage area proposed is located between the villages of Boynton and Rudston within a rectangular area with the corners having the following grid co-ordinates: 510400E, 468200N; 513000E, 468200N; 513000N, 467000N; 510400E, 467000E and is more particularly shown on the map accompanying the proposals. The gas proposed to be stored is natural gas imported from the National Transmission and the volume of gas it is proposed to store will be up to 289 million cubic metres (10.2 billion standard cubic feet). It is proposed that the gas will be stored in depleted porous gas reservoirs within the Caythorpe gas field located at a minimum depth of 1770 metres (5,800 feet).
