NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that Land Securities Properties Ltd, 5 Strand, London WC2 5AF, are applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from the upper chalk at National Grid Refs, Boreholes A = TQ 2641 8131, Borehole B = TQ 2639 8128, Borehole C = TQ 2645 8125 and Borehole D = TQ 2644 8123, at 40 Eastbourne Terrace, London W2 6LG. Borehole A will be a pumping well which will recharge into Borehole C and Borehole B will be a pumping well which will recharge into Borehole D. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates of 30 l/s, at 108 cubic metres per hour, 1,150 cubic metres per day (10-24 hour day), 300,000 cubic metres per annum, with no net abstraction. The abstracted water will be used all year round for the purpose of building, heating and cooling. The same volume abstracted will be discharged back to the upper chalk aquifer after use, 5% of the abstracted amount 2.0 l/s, 7 cubic metres per hour (5 hours), 35 cubic metres per day, 7,500 cubic metres per annum will be used for grey water use. Copies of this application and any maps, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Land Securities Properties Ltd, 50 Eastbourne Terrace, London W2 6LG, between 16 June 2005 and 14 July 2005.
