The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act, which will authorise the stopping-up of an area of highway at Westholme, on the corner of Church Lane and Barnham Road, Eastergate, in the county of West Sussex. If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to Mr L B Miller on 3 December 2003, by Arun District Council under Ref EG/57/03. Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during the 28 days commencing on 24 February 2005, at the Chichester Public Library, Tower Street, Chichester PO19 1QJ, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Head of Surrey, East and West Sussex Transport, Government Office for the South East (quoting Ref GOSE/029/001/WSUS/AAE) at the address below. During the above-mentioned period of 28 days anyone may object to the making of the Order by writing to the Secretary of State, quoting Ref GOSE/029/001/WSUS/AAE and addressing their objection to the Head of Surrey, East and West Sussex Transport, Government Office for the South East, Ground Floor, Bridge House, 1 Walnut Tree Close, Guildford GU1 4GA. In the preparation of an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection may be communicated to the applicant and other people who may be affected by it.
