ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE A38 TRUNK ROAD (SUTTON COLDFIELD BYPASS) (DERESTRICTION) ORDER 2005
The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that he has made an Order
under sections 82(2) and 83(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the A38
Trunk Road at Langley Mill in the City of Birmingham and the County of Warwickshire.
The effect of the Order, which comes into force on 28 February 2005, will be to maintain
the national speed limit on lengths of the A38 at Langley Mill between points:
(a) 70 metres north and 75 metres south of its northern roundabout junction with
the slip road leading from the southbound carriageway of the M6 Toll, including that
roundabout, in the county of Warwickshire, and
(b) 515 metres north and 350 metres south of its southern roundabout junction with
the slip road leading from the northbound carriageway of the M6 Toll, including that
roundabout, in the county of Warwickshire and the city of Birmingham, which would
otherwise be subject to a speed limit of 30 miles per hour as a result of the installation
of street lighting.
A copy of the Order, together with plans illustrating the proposals and a statement
of the Secretary of State’s reasons for making the Order, may be inspected during
