NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that A.Ogden & Sons Ltd., of Brodsworth House, Brodsworth, Doncaster DN5 7XB, are applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from a borehole in the Coal Measures, at National Grid Ref SE 4160 0800, at Grimethorpe Colliery, in the parish of Brierley, Barnsley district of South Yorkshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 70 cubic metres per hour, 1,600 cubic metres per day, 430,000 cubic metres per year. The water will be used for mineral washing and dust suppression. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Brodsworth House, Brodsworth, Doncaster, between 18 February 2005 and 25 March 2005. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Licensing Section, Phoenix House, Global Avenue, Leeds LS11 8PG, before the end of the said period.
