THE TOWER HAMLETS (20 MPH HOUR SPEED LIMIT) (NO 2) TRAFFIC ORDER 2005

1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, on 14 February 2005, made the above-mentioned Order under sections 84(1)(a) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. 2. The general effect of The Tower Hamlets (20 mph Speed Limit) (No 2) Traffic Order 2005 will be that no person shall drive a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour in any of the streets or lengths of street which are public highway and lie within an area bounded by a line drawn on the southern backline of East Smithfield and The Highway, the eastern backline of Glamis Road projected to the north bank of the River Thames, the north bank of the River Thames, the south-western backline of St Katharine’s Way, between Thomas More Street and Mews Street, the north-eastern backline of St Katharine’s Way, between Mews Street and Thomas More Street and the western backline of Thomas More Street. 3. A copy of the Order which will come into operation on 28 February 2005 can be inspected, by prior appointment, at the offices of Environment and Culture, Traffic and Transportation Section, 60 Southern Grove, London E3 4PN, during normal office hours on Monday to Fridays inclusive, until the expiration of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made. 4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
