THE LEWISHAM (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) (NO  ) TRAFFIC ORDER 2005
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

1. Notice is hereby given that Lewisham Council propose to make this Order under the provisions of section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. This notice and the proposed Order are revised to include roads omitted from the prior version through transcription error. 2. The general nature and effect of the Order will be to impose a 20 mph maximum speed limit on vehicles being driven on these roads in the Brockley and Ladywell area: Adelaide Avenue, Algernon Road, Algiers Road, Arabin Road, Ashby Mews, Ashby Road, Avon Road, Bankside Avenue, Barriedale, Beecroft Road, Bertrand Street, Beverly Court, Branscombe Street, Braxfield Road, Breakspears Mews, Breakspears Road, Brindley Street, Brockley Cross, Brockley Road between Brockley Cross and 20 metres south of Harefield Road, Brookbank Road, Chalsey Road, Chestnut Close, Clare Road, Claybank Grove, Cliffview Road, Comerford Road, Cornmill Lane, Coulgate Street, Cranfield Road, Crescent Way, Dalrymple Road, Darling Road, Dixon Road, Drake Road, Eastern Road, Elder Walk, Ellerdale Street, Elmira Street, Embleton Road, Ermine Road, Fossil Road, Foxberry Road, Garsington Mews, Geoffrey Road, Gillian Street, Glensdale Road, Greatfield Close, Halesworth Road, Harcourt Road, Harefield Mews, Harefield Road, Hilly Fields Crescent, Howson Road, Kneller Road, Ladycroft Road, Ladywell Close, Ladywell Road between Adelaide Avenue and the Ladywell road-over-rail bridge, Laurie Grove, Lewisham Way service road on the south-west side of the Memorial Gardens, Luxmore Street, Malpas Road, Manor Avenue, Manor Mews, Marsala Road, Mercy Terrace, Millmark Grove, Montague Avenue, Nuding Close, Nursery Close, Odell Walk, Overcliff Road, Railway Terrace, Rokeby Road, Roundel Close, Sandrock Road, Shardeloes Road, Silver Road, Shell Road, St Donatt’s Road, St Margaret’s Square, St Margaret’s Road, Tack Mews, Tremaine Close, Tressillian Crescent, Tressillian Road, Tyrwhitt Road, Undercliffe Road, Upper Brockley Road, Veda Road, Vesta Road east of west side of the road-over-rail bridge, Vian Street, Vicar’s Hill, Viney Road, Vulcan Terrace, Whitbread Road, Wickham Gardens, Wickham Mews, Wickham Road, Yew Tree Close and the three as yet unnamed roads in new development at Sundermead Estate; to be supported by traffic calming measures to constitute a 20 mph zone. 3. The restrictions referred to above would not apply to ambulance, fire brigade or police vehicles in an emergency or to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform. 4. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order and measures can be inspected between the hours of 10.00 am and 4.00 pm on Mondays to Fridays at the offices of Lewisham Highways Development, Wearside Service Centre, Wearside Road, London SE13 (telephone 020 8314 2265). 5. Any objection or other representation relating to the Order must be made in writing and any objection must specify the grounds on which it is made. Any such objection or representation must be sent, quoting Ref “P.Sear/Ladyw20zone”, to Lewisham Highways Development, Fleet Building 1st Floor, Wearside Service Centre, Wearside Road, London SE13 7EZ, to arrive not later than 21 days from the date of publication of this notice.
