NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that Dr Dallas Burston, of The Manor House, Victors Barns, Brixworth, Northampton NN6 9DJ, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from The River Itchen, at National Grid Ref SP 4049 6221, at Stoneythorpe Mill, Stoneythorpe Polo Centre, Southam, Warwickshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: in year 2005-06: 24.83 cubic metres per hour, 596 cubic metres per day, 90,000 cubic metres per year. In year 2006-07 and subsequent years the proposed abstraction will be reduced to 23.70 cubic metres per hour, 568.8 cubic metres per day, 85,909 cubic metres per year, between 1 November and 31 March each year. The water will be used for filling a winter-fill lagoon for subsequent spray irrigation. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Stratford on Avon District Council Offices, Coventry Road, Southam, between 10 February 2005 and 17 March 2005. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Riversmeet House, Newtown Industrial Estate, Northway Lane, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire GL20 8JG, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
