CHANGES TO PERMIT PARKING PLACES IN THE WATERLOO “W” CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE
( Note: This notice is about the changes to the hours of operation of certain parking places in the Waterloo “W” controlled parking zone and the provision of additional parking places within the zone.) 1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth, on 8 February 2005, made the Lambeth (Waterloo) (Parking Places) (No 1) Experimental Traffic Order 2005 under sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will come into force on 21 February 2005 and may continue in force for up to 18 months. 2. The general effect of the Order will be to amend existing parking places in Addington Street, Alaska Street, Aquinas Street, Baylis Road, Belvedere Road, parts of Boundary Row, Boyce Street, Brad Street, parts of Broadwall, Buckley Street, Burdett Street, Carlisle Lane, Centaur Street, parts of Chaplin Close, Chichley Street, Coin Street, Concert Hall Approach, Cons Street, Coral Street, Cornwall Road, Cosser Street, Doon Street, Duchy Street, Emery Street, Exton Street, Frazier Street, Granby Place, parts of Gray Street, Greenham Close, Greet Street, Grindal Street, parts of Hatfields, Herculeus Road, Holmes Terrace, Holst Court, Johanna Street, parts of Kennington Road, parts of King Edward Walk, Lambeth Palace Road, parts of Lambeth Road, Lancelot Street, Leake Street, Lower Marsh, McAuley Close, Mead Row, Mepham Street, Miller Walk, Mitre Road, parts of Morley Street, Morton Place, Murphy Street, Newnham Terrace, Oakey Lane, Pearman Street, Pear Place, Penhurst Place, Roupell Street, Royal Street, Sandell Street, Secker Street, parts of Short Street, Sidford Place, parts of Stamford Street, Tanswell Street, Tenison Way, parts of The Cut, Theed Street, parts of Ufford Street, parts of Upper Ground, Upper Marsh, Virgil Street, parts of Waterloo Road, parts of Webber Street, parts of Westminster Bridge Road, Whichcote Street, Whittlessey Street, Windmill Walk, Wootton Street and York Road for use by vehicles for which an appropriate amount has been paid, or by vehicles displaying a valid ticket or by vehicles displaying a valid permit. 3. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection during normal office hours at the offices of Lambeth Borough Council’s Transport and Highways Group, 3rd Floor, Blue Star House, 234-244 Stockwell Road, Brixton, London SW9 9SP, during the period from 21 February 2005 until the Order ceases to have effect. 5. The Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the experimental Order should be continued in force indefinitely by means of a permanent Order made under sections 6, 45, 46 and 49 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Any person may object to the making of the Order for the purpose of such indefinite continuation within a period of 6 months beginning with the day on which the experimental Order came into force or, if the Order is varied by another Order or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, beginning with the day on which the latest variation or modification came into force. Any such objection must be in writing, state the grounds on which it is made and be sent to the Assistant Director, Street Management, at the address shown in paragraph 4 above. Any objection may be communicated to, or be seen by, other persons who may be affected. 6. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order, or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any Instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
