CHANGES TO MARKET TRADER PERMIT PARKING IN THE WATERLOO “W” CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE

( Note: This notice is about the changes to the hours of operation of parking places for market traders in the Waterloo “W” controlled parking zone) 1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth, on 8 February 2005, made the Lambeth (Traders’ Parking Places) (No 1) Experimental Traffic Order 2005 under sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will come into force on 21 February 2005 and may continue in force for up to 18 months. 2. The general effect of the Order will be to amend existing parking places in parts of Frazier Street, Launcelot Street, Lower Marsh, Tanswell Street and Upper Marsh, for use by vehicles displaying a valid permit in the London Borough of Lambeth. 3. If you have any queries about this matter, please contact Lambeth Borough Council’s Transport and Highways Group on 020 7926 9000. 4. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection during normal office hours at the offices of Lambeth Borough Council’s Transport and Highways Group, 3rd Floor, Blue Star House, 234-244 Stockwell Road, Brixton, London SW9 9SP, during the period from 21 February 2005 until the Order ceases to have effect. 5. The Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the experimental Order should be continued in force indefinitely by means of a permanent Order made under sections 6, 45, 46 and 49 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Any person may object to the making of the Order for the purpose of such indefinite continuation within a period of 6 months beginning with the day on which the experimental Order came into force or, if the Order is varied by another Order or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, beginning with the day on which the latest variation or modification came into force. Any such objection must be in writing, state the grounds on which it is made and be sent to the Assistant Director, Street Management, at the address shown in paragraph 4 above. Any objection may be communicated to, or seen by, other persons who may be affected. 6. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order, or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any Instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court. T Jackson, Assistant Director, Street Management 11 February 2005.
