NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that British Field Products Limited, of Corkway Drive, Hockwold, Thetford, Norfolk IP26 4JR, is applying to the Environment Agency Anglian Region to vary Licence Serial No 6/33/40/S/65 to abstract water from a drain between National Grid Ref TL 6486 8688 and TL 6469 8640, to fill a winter storage reservoir. To re-abstract from Burnt Fen IDB and Southery & District IDB main drains and farm dykes at Plantation Farm and Middle Farm between 1 April and 31 October in any year following compensatory discharge into the drains from the reservoir. The variation being applied for is to: (a) Abstract 200 cubic metres per hour, 4,800 cubic metres per day and 181,818 cubic metres per year between 1 November and 31 March each year, from Southery & District IDB drain at National Grid Ref TL 6630 8905. The water will be used to fill an additional winter storage reservoir for subsequent summer spray irrigation of arable crops. (b) To re-abstract 240 cubic metres per hour, 5,760 cubic metres per day and 163,636 cubic metres per year, from Southery & District IDB main drains and farm dykes in the vicinity of Blackdyke Drove and Sedge Fen Drove at Middle Farm and Clouds Farm between 1 April and 31 October each year following compensatory discharge into the drains from the reservoir. The water will be used for overhead spray irrigation of arable crops. (c) To add extra land and abstraction points at Clouds Farm, Headland Drove. A copy of the application and map, plans or other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at British Field Products Limited, Corkway Drove, Hockwold, Thetford, Norfolk IP26 4JR, between 11 February 2005 and 11 March 2005.
