ST LUKE’S CHURCH AND HIGHBURY BARN AMENDMENTS

1. Notice is hereby given that London Borough of Islington proposes to make the above mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Local Government Act 1985. 2. The general effect of the parking place Order would be: (a) on the south-east side of Mitchell Road, near its junction with Central Street, to remove a 4 metre length of residents’ parking; (b) on the north-east side of Central Street, north-west of Mitchell Street, to provide two residents’ parking places with parking space for 6 vehicles; and (c) make certain other changes to bring the Order in line with the on-street layout. 3. the general effect of the waiting and loading restriction Order would be: (a) in connection with the St Luke’s Church proposals to change the hours during which waiting and loading restrictions apply in those roads and during the times shown in the Schedule to this notice; and (b) in connection with the Highbury Barn amendments: (i) to provide “at any time” waiting restrictions in certain lengths of Highbury Grange, Highbury Park, Northolme Road and Sotheby Road; (ii) to provide loading restrictions that would operate between 8.30 am and 1.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive in Highbury Park, the east side, between a point 3 metres south of a point opposite the party wall of Nos 34 and 36 Highbury Park and a point opposite the party wall of Nos 14 and 16 Highbury Park; and (iii) to provide loading restrictions that would operate between 1.30 pm and 6.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive in Highbury Park, the west side, between a point 32 metres north of a point opposite the southern wall of No 1 Highbury Park and a point opposite that wall; bringing the Order in line with the on-street layout; and (c) make certain other changes to bring the Order in line with the on-street layout. 4. the general effect of the prescribed routes Order would be to: (a) provide two-way working in Mitchell Street; (b) provide one-way working (from north-west to south-east) in Helmet Row; (c) provide that vehicles proceeding in Central Street may enter Mitchell Street; and (d) prevent vehicles proceeding in Old Street from entering Helmet Row. 5. The general effect of the times and tariffs Order would be to update the Times and Tariffs Consolidation Order so that it reflects the various hours of control in use within the Borough. 6. A copy of the proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection during normal office hours, until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders, at the following location: Street Management, The Municipal Offices, 222 Upper Street, London N1 1YA.
