PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF AN APPLICATION
MADE UNDER REGULATION 10 OF THE POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (ENGLAND AND WALES) REGULATIONS 2000
INTEGRATED POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL

Notice is hereby given that Bourns Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for an Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) permit, to operate an installation involving the manufacturing activity (other than the manufacture of chemicals or glass or the coating, plating or surface treatment of metal) which:

(i) involves the use of hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen bromide or hydrogen iodide or any of their acids; and
(ii) may result in the release of any of those compounds into the air.

The operations undertaken at this installation may be described by Schedule 1 of the Pollution Prevention and Control (England and Wales) Regulations 2000 (SI 1973) as a section 4.2, Part A(1)h.
The installation is located at Manton Lane, Bedford MK41 7BJ in the borough/district of Bedford Borough Council in the county of Bedfordshire.
The application contains a descripton of any foreseeable significant effects of emissions from the installation on the environment.
Information relating to the above IPPC application for a permit to operate the “Bourns Ltd” is held in registers at the following locations:

The Environment Agency Office, Kingfisher House, Goldhay Way, Orton Goldhay, Peterborough PE2 5ZR; and Local Authority: Bedford Borough Council, Town Hall, St Pauls Square, Bedford MK40 1SJ.

Members of the public can inspect these registers, free of charge, at the above-stated addresses, during normal office hours. In addition, members of the public who wish to obtain a copy of the relevant information contained in the registers can do so upon the payment of a reasonable charge to cover the costs of copying.
Any objections or representations to the above IPPC application should be made in writing to the Environment Agency at the address below, within 28 days, from the date of this public notice.

Any such objections or representations will be entered into a public register unless the person making them requests in writing that they should not be so placed. If there is such a request, the register will only include a statement that there has been a request.
