NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A CONSENT TO DISCHARGE AND VARIATION OF EXISTING CONSENTS TO DISCHARGE

Notice is given, as required by Schedule 10 of the Water Resources Act 1991, that the following applications have been made to the Environment Agency, South West Region. South West Water has applied for a new Consent to Discharge and variation of existing Consents to Discharge from a Sewage Treatment Works at Ipplepen, Devon. Ipplepen STW has been identified as needing improvement and due to development in the area the flows to the STW have increased. An application for a new settled storm discharge has been made along with applications to vary the existing Consents to Discharge for biologically treated effluent and screened storm sewage. The proposed improvement works include a new flow regime, a new storm tank to attenuate storm flows and provide settlement prior to storm discharge, and improved treatment of the final effluent.
