The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that he has made an Order, under sections 82(2), 83(1) and 84(1)(a) and (2) of, and paragraph 27(1) of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A449 Trunk Road at Kidderminster in the County of Worcestershire. The Order has been modified from the draft published on 28 October 2004 to exclude the proposed 40 mph speed limit on the A449 from north of its junction with Spennells Valley Road to south-east of its roundabout junction with the A442. That length has now been included in the draft A449 Trunk Road (Kidderminster to Ombersley) (40 mph and 50 mph speed limit) Order 200 . The effect of the Order, which comes into force on 10 February 2005, will be to impose: (a) a 30 mph speed limit on the A449 from a point 274 metres south of the centreline of its junction with Wolverly Road (B4189) to a point 82 metres north of the centre of its roundabout junction with Spennells Valley Road, and (b) a 40 mph speed limit on the A449 between points 195 metres north and 274 metres south of the centreline of its junction with Wolverly Road (B4189). There are currently temporary Orders in force on parts of these lengths; this Order will make them permanent. A copy of the Order, together with plans illustrating the proposals and a statement of the Secretary of State’s reasons for making the Order may be inspected during opening hours at Worcestershire County Council, Wychavon Highways Unit Civic Centre, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Pershore, Worcestershire WR10 1PT; Broadwater Inn, 168 Stourbridge Road, Broadwater, Kidderminster, Worcestershire DY10 2UL or may be seen at or obtained by application to the Highways Agency, Traffic Operations Divisional Management Team, Broadway, Broad Street, Birmingham B15 1BL.
