PROPOSED CLOSURE OF A LORRY PARKING AREA IN LION GREEN ROAD CAR PARK, COULSDON

1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Croydon propose to make the Croydon (Off Street Parking Places) (No J62) Traffic Order 2005 under sections 32, 35, 124 of, and Part I to IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. 2. The general effect of the Order will be to amend the provisions of the Croydon (Off Street Parking Places) (No 2) Traffic Order 1991 to exclude heavy goods vehicles, including coaches from using Lion Green Road Car Park, Coulsdon. All other regulations contained within that Order governing the use of the Off Street Car Park remain the same. 3. A copy of the proposed Order, of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order, and of a map which indicates the area of land to which the proposed Order relates can be inspected until the last day of a period of 6 weeks beginning with the date on which the Order is made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the Enquiry Counter, “One Stop” Facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey. 4. Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Environmental, Cultural and Sports Services Department, London Borough of Croydon, on 020-8686 4433, ext 6861. 5. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Environmental, Cultural and Sports Services Department, Parking and Departmental Support Services, 1st Floor, Davis House, Robert Street, Croydon CR0 1QQ, quoting Ref ECSS/PTS/JAA/7/J62, by 2 March 2005. 6. The Councillors for this Ward are Anna Hawkins, David Osland and Gavin Barwell. 7. The proposed Order is intended to exclude heavy goods vehicles from the vehicles allowed to use Lion Green Road Car Park, Coulsdon. This exclusion is necessary to prevent the use of the car park by travellers who unlawfully camp in the car park and to discourage flytipping within the site by the use of height barriers.
