THE HARINGEY (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) (NO 16) ORDER 2004

1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Haringey, hereinafter called the Council, on 23 December 2004, made the above-mentioned Order under sections 84(1)(a) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991.
2. The general effect of the Order would be that no person shall drive a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour on any lengths of Talbot Road, London N10, Vallance Road, London N10, Elgin Road, London N10, The Avenue, London N10, Dukes Avenue, London N10, Lansdowne Road, London N10, Grove Avenue, London N10, Rosebery Road, London N10, Wellfield Avenue, London N10, Cecil Road, London N10, Cranboure Road, London N10, Muswell Road, London N10, Donovan Avenue, London N10, Curzon Road, London N10, Methuen Park, London N10, Elms Avenue, London N10, Coniston Road, London N10 and Muswell Avenue, London N10.
3. The above-mentioned requirements would not apply to anything done:

(a) with the permission or at the direction of a Police Constable in uniform; and
(b) in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway by or on behalf of the Metropolitan Police.

4. A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 24 December 2004 can be inspected until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which this Order was made, during normal office working hours at Hornsey Town Hall, The Broadway, Crouch End, London N8.
5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks of the making of the Order, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
