NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that E W Porter & Son of Grange Farm, Feltwell, Thetford, Norfolk IP26
4DH, are applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from the
chalk underground strata, at Methwold, Kings Lynn and West Norfolk district, Norfolk.
The proposal is to abstract water from two boreholes at National Grid Refs TL 7573
9413 and TL 7571 9408 to fill a storage reservoir all year round and for direct summer
spray irrigation between 1 April and 30 September each year at the following aggregated
rates of abstraction: 45.5 cubic metres per hour, 1,090.9 cubic metres per day and
40,900 cubic metres per year.
The application is to renew licence serial No 6/33/56/G/204 which is due to expire
on 31 December 2004.
A copy of the application and any map, plans or other documents may be inspected,
free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Grange Farm, Feltwell, Thetford, Norfolk
IP26 4DH, between 9 December 2004 and 6 January 2005.
Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so
in writing to the Environment Agency, Bromholme Lane, Brampton, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
PE28 4NE, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
