NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 88

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 of the Water Resources Act 1991 (as amended by the Environment Act 1995) that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by Yorkshire Water Services Ltd, Western House, Halifax Road, Bradford BD6 2SZ, for consent to discharge sewage effluent in storm conditions from Danesmoor Combined Sewer Overflow, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, into a tributary of the River Rother at National Grid Ref SK 4047 6281. The application is in respect of the rationalisation of existing combined sewer overflow discharges. The new storm sewage discharge will only occur in times of rainfall and/or snow melt conditions in the sewerage catchment when the flow at the overflow exceeds 147 litres/second and the storage capacity of 350 cubic metres is fully utilised. Discharge flows up to 149 litres/second will pass through a 6 millimetre in two dimension screening device. Any person who wishes to make representations or objections with respect to the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Phoenix House, Global Avenue, Leeds LS11 8PG, for the attention of Peter Baker quoting Ref No R800605, not later than Thursday 20 January 2005. A copy of the application may be inspected, free of charge, at the local Environment Agency office, at Bowbridge Close, Bradmarsh Business Park, Templeborough, Rotherham S60 1BY, on weekdays between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm.
