NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that J & B Farnaby of Brough Moor Turf Farm, Scurragh Lane, Skeeby, Richmond, North Yorks DL10 5EF, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from a borehole in the carboniferous limestone at National Grid Ref N2 2158 0267 at Brough Moor Farm, Scurragh Lane, Skeeby in the parish of Brompton-on-Swale, Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 25 cubic metres per hour, 250 cubic metres per day, 40,000 cubic metres between 1 March and 31 October each year. The water will be used for spray irrigation. The annual quantity will be abstracted in aggregate with the annual quantity authorised to be abstracted from three other boreholes. This application seeks to replace an existing time limited licence which is due to expire on 31 October 2004. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge at all reasonable hours at Brough Moor Farm, Scurragh Lane, Skeeby, Richmond, between 9 July and 9 August 2004.
