ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT 1981

THE A11 TRUNK ROAD (ATTLEBOROUGH BYPASS IMPROVEMENT) COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER (MP NO 16) 20

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the above-mentioned Acts has prepared a draft Compulsory Purchase Order, entitled as above, which he proposes to make, authorising him to purchase compulsorily: (a) the land and rights described in the Schedule 1 hereto for the purpose of: (i) the construction of a new trunk road at Attleborough in the district of Breckland in the county of Norfolk in pursuance of the A11 Trunk Road (Attleborough Bypass Improvement) Slip Roads Order 20  ; (ii) the construction and improvement of highways and the provision of new means of access to premises at Attleborough in the said district and county in pursuance of the A11 Trunk Road (Attleborough Bypass Improvement) Side Roads Order 20  ; (iii) use by the Secretary of State in connection with such construction and improvement of highways and the execution of other works mentioned above; (b) the land and rights described in Schedule 2 hereto for the purpose of mitigating any adverse effect which the existence or use of the highway proposed to be constructed or improved by him as mentioned above will have on the surroundings thereof. Copies of the draft Compulsory Purchase Order and of the plan referred to in it, together with copies of the published draft of the above-mentioned Slip Roads Order and Side Roads Order (both with their accompanying plans), have been deposited and may be seen at all reasonable hours from 17 June 2004 to 28 July 2004 at the offices of the Highways Agency, Major Projects Division, Heron House, 49-53 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3LL; and at the offices of Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, Norfolk NR1 2SG; Breckland District Council, Breckland House, 86 Nicholas Street, Thetford, Norfolk IP24 1BT; Breckland District Council, Attleborough Presence Office, Bush House, Queens Square, Attleborough, Norfolk NR17 2AF; Attleborough Town Council, The Pines, Connaught Road, Attleborough, Norfolk NR17 2BP; Attleborough Library, 31 Connaught Road, Attleborough, Norfolk NR17 2BW; and Attleborough Post Office, High Street, Attleborough, Norfolk NR17 2AA. Any objection to the draft Compulsory Purchase Order must be made in writing and addressed to the Secretary of State at Heron House, 49-53 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3LL, not later than 4 August 2004 and should state the grounds of objection and quote Ref HA 65/32/33. In the preparation of an objection and the statement of grounds of objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection or representation may be communicated to other people who may be affected by it.
