PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF AN APPLICATION MADE UNDER REGULATION 10 OF THE POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (ENGLAND AND WALES) REGULATIONS 2000
INTEGRATED POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL

Notice is hereby given that Biffa Waste Services Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for an Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) permit to operate an installation involving the disposal of waste by landfill, and the directly associated activities of flaring/utilisation of landfill gas for energy recovery and treatment of leachate. The installation is located at Trecatti Landfill Site, Fochriw Road, near Merthyr Tydfil CF48 4AB in the borough of Merthyr Tydfil in the county of Mid-Glamorgan. The application contains a description of any foreseeable significant effects of emissions from the installation on the environment. Information relating to the above IPPC application for a permit to operate Trecatti Landfill Site is held in the following locations: Public Register: The Environment Agency—Wales, Rivers House, St Mellons Business Park, Fortran Road, St Mellons, Cardiff CF3 0LY; and Local Authority: Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, Civic Centre, Castle Street, Merthyr Tydfil CF47 8AN. Members of the public can inspect these registers, free of charge, at the above-stated addresses during normal office hours. In addition, members of the public who wish to obtain a copy of the relevant information contained in the registers can do so upon the payment of a reasonable charge to cover the cost of copying. Any objections or representations to the above IPPC application should be made in writing to the Environment Agency at the address shown below, within 28 days from the date of this public notice: Environment Agency Office, SPG—Bristol, Environment Agency, c/o Motion Media Technology Centre, Severn Bridge, Aust, Bristol BS35 4BL. Any such objections or representations will be entered into a public register unless the person making them requests in writing that they should not be so placed. If there is such a request, the register will only include a statement that there has been a request.
