LONDON BUS PRIORITY MEASURES ON CLAPHAM PARK ROAD
(This notice is about the Council making permanent the experimental bus lane and experimental waiting restrictions in Clapham Park Road) 1. Notice is hereby given that Lambeth Council on 6 May 2004 made the Lambeth (Bus Priority) (Clapham Park Road) Traffic Order 2004 and the Lambeth (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Area) (Amendment No 74) Order 2004, under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Orders will come into force on 10 May 2004. 2. The general effect of the Orders will be to: (a) continue to provide a bus lane which will operate at any time on the north-east side of Clapham Park Road from a point 10 metres north-west of the north-western kerbline of Abbeville Mews and the south-eastern extremity of the island site which lies 2 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerbline of the vehicular entrance to Mount Lodge, Nos 102-108 Clapham Park Road and a point 22 metres south-east of that kerbline; (All vehicles except buses, pedal cycles, taxis and certain other vehicles in certain circumstances will be banned from being in the bus lane); (b) continue to ban waiting by vehicles (including waiting for the purpose of loading or unloading a vehicle) at any time in certain parts of Clapham Park Road, Abbeville Road, Holwood Place, Park Hill, St. Alphonsus Road, Triangle Place, The access road leading to Mount Lodge, Nos 102-108 Clapham Park Road and the vehicular entrance to and exit from Sainsbury’s Supermarket. 3. The measures described above are necessary to improve bus journey times and the services provided by buses. 4. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection until the last day of a period of 6 weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made, Mondays to Fridays, between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm (except bank holidays) in the offices of Lambeth Council’s Transport and Highways Group, 3rd Floor, Blue Star House, 234-244 Stockwell Road, Brixton, London SW9 9SP. 6. If any persons wishes to question the validity of the Orders or any of their provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act, or of any Instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
