NOTICE FOR APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that Dales Water Services Ltd, Witherick Lane, Melmerby, Ripon, North
Yorkshire HG4 5JB, on behalf of Richard Lawson and Son, Deerslet Farm, Burton in Kendall,
Carnforth, Lancashire, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract
water from a borehole in the limestone at National Grid Ref Point SD 5243 7532 at
Deerslet Farm, Burton in Kendal, Carnforth. The proposal is to abstract water at the
following rates: 4 cubic metres per hour, 30 cubic metres per day, 10,500 cubic metres
per year. The water will be used for agricultural use on a dairy farm.
A copy of the application and of any map, plans or other documents submitted with
it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Deerslet Farm, Burton
in Kendall, Carnforth, Lancashire between 23 May 2003 and 23 June 2003. Any person
who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to
the Environment Agency North West Region, Lutra House, Dodd Way, off Seedlee Road,
Walton Summit, Bamber Bridge, Preston PR5 8BX, before the end of said period.
