NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR LICENCES TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that C & H Edwards of Hillcrest, Somersham Road, Pidley, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire PE28 3DG, are applying to the Environment Agency for the following licences: (a) To abstract water from the Twelve Foot, the Queens Dyke and other drains and farm dykes at and between the following National Grid Refs: TL 3414 7991 and TL 3475 7961; TL 3520 8052 and TL 3533 8019; TL 3684 8111 and TL 3687 8046, all at Somersham and Pidley cum Fenton parishes, Huntingdon district, Cambridgeshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates of abstraction: 54.54 cubic metres per hour, 681.82 cubic metres per day and 4,540 cubic metres per year between 1 May and 30 September each year for spray irrigation purposes. The application is to renew licence serial no 6/33/53/S/639 which expires on 30 September 2003. (b) To abstract water from the Queens Dyke at National Grid Ref TL 3515 7963 for the purposes of filling a winter storage reservoir at TL 3466 7968 alongside Cross Drove, Pidley cum Fenton parish, Huntingdon district, Cambridgeshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates of abstraction: 54.54 cubic metres per hour, 681.82 cubic metres per day and 45,461 cubic metres per year between 1 November and 31 March the following year for subsequent transfer and abstraction for spray irrigation purposes between 1 May and 30 September each year. Copies of the application and any maps, plans or other documents submitted may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at the Farm Office, Hillcrest, Somersham Road, Pidley, Huntingdon, Cambridgshire PE28 3DG, between 2 April 2003 and 30 April 2003.
