NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 88
Notice is hereby given in accordance with Schedule 10 section 4 of the Water Resources Act, 1991 that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by United Utilities Water PLC for the temporary relaxation (reduction) of the volume of storm tank storage provided in consent 016940005. The consent permits the discharge of storm tank effluent from the storm tanks serving Hale Waste Water Treatment Works into the River Bollin at National Grid Ref SJ 7734 8564. The current storm tank storage provision is 1,499 cubic metres. The relaxed condition applied for is for the storage volume to be reduced to 1,110 cubic metres for a period not exceeding 3 months. The consent relaxation is required so that improvement measures can be incorporated at the works to ensure that future discharge levels are reduced.
