HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE (SCOTSWOOD ROAD IMPROVEMENT) (NO 2) (CLASSIFIED ROAD) (SIDE ROADS) ORDER 2003

The Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne hereby give notice that they have made and submitted to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation, an Order under sections 14 and 125 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the Council to:

(a) improve highways (including raising, lowering or otherwise altering);
(b) construct new highways;
(c) stop up private means of access to premises;
(d) stop up highways

all on or in the vicinity of the route of the classified road known as the A695 Scotswood Road which the Council are proposing to improve between Redheugh Bridge and a point 250 metres west of Whitehouse Road.
A full description is contained in the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order.
Copies of the Order and the relevant plans (and the statement of reasons for making the Order) may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours from 25 March 2003 to 10 May 2003 at the offices of the Customer Services Centre, Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne and at the Department of Transport, Northern Regional Office, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4TD.
Any person may, no later than 9 May 2003 object to the confirmation of the Order by notice to the Secretary of State for Transport, Northern Regional Office, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4TD, stating the grounds for objection.
