THE TOWER HAMLETS (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) (NO 1) TRAFFIC ORDER 2003

1.  Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, on 14 March 2003 made the above-mentioned Order under sections 84(1)(a) and (2), and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991.
2.  The general effect The Tower Hamlets (20 mph Speed Limit) (No 1) Traffic Order 2003 will be to:

(a)  extend the existing 20 mph speed limit in the Fieldgate Street area so that no person shall drive a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour on any of the following lengths of Road, Adler Street, Assam Street, Coke Street, Fieldgate Street, Fordham Street, Greenfield Road, Manningtree Street, Mulberry Street, Myrdle Street, Parfett Street, Plumbers Row, Settles Street, Weyhill Road, Whitechurch Lane,
(b)  revoke the Tower Hamlets (20 mph Speed Limit) (No 1) Traffic Order 1993.

3.  A copy of the Order which will come into operation on 7 April 2003 can be inspected, by prior appointment, at the offices of Customer Services, Traffic and Transportation Section, Southern Grove Lodge, Southern Grove, London E3 4PN, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the expiration of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made.
4.  Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision provided therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
