Take notice that RMC Aggregates (Western) Limited, of Wolverhampton Road, Oldbury, Warley, West Midlands B69 4RJ, is applying to the Environment Agency to vary licence serial number 3/28/22/36/G to abstract water from a borehole into Bunter Sandstone at National Grid Ref SK 163 048 at Hopwas Quarry, Knox Grave Lane, Hopwas, Tamworth, Staffordshire B78 3AR. The existing licence authorises abstraction of 21.6 cubic metres per hour, 520 cubic metres per day, 160,000 cubic metres per year until 31 March 2003. From 1 April 2003, the authorised quantities reduce to 16.8 cubic metres per hour, 227 cubic metres per day, 54,545 cubic metres per year. The variation being applied for is to extend the expiry date on the time limited portion of the licence to 2008 until the completion of a review of aquifer resource availability. The time limited quantities will also be reduced to actual abstraction rate, giving total licensed volumes of 17.9 cubic metres per hour, 430 cubic metres per day, 150,000 cubic metres per year. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at The Quarry Managers Office, Hopwas Quarry, Knox Grave Lane, Hopwas, Tamworth, Staffordshire B78 3AR, between 20 March 2003 and 20 April 2003.
