NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that R E Stacey of “Fresh Fields”, Benwick Road, Ramsey, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from the the following points: 1. a drain of the Ramsey 1st (Hollow) IDB, between National Grid Refs TL 3152 8757 and TL 3209 8754, at Long Drove, Ramsey Forty Foot; 2. a drain of the Ramsey 1st (Hollow) IDB between, National Grid Refs TL 3261 8755 and TL 3283 8749, at Long Drove, Ramsey Forty Foot; 3. the Forty Foot Drain, between National Grid Refs TL 3235 8797 and TL 3298 8795, at Ramsey Forty Foot; 4. the Forty Foot Drain, between National Grid Refs TL 3135 8802 and TL 3176 8799, at Ramsey Forty Foot; 5. a ditch at National Grid Ref TL 3187 8826, at Benwick Road, Ramsey; 6. ditches between National Grid Refs TL 3233 8802, TL 3234 8826 and TL 3255 8825, at “Fresh Fields”, Benwick Road, Ramsey; 7. a ditch between National Grid Refs TL 3150 8805 and TL 3158 8830, at Broadall’s Farm Forty Foot Bank, Ramsey; 8. a drain of the Benwick IDB, between National Grid Refs TL 3184 8830 and TL 3218 8878, at Four Hundred Drove, Ramsey Forty Foot; 9. a drain of the Benwick IDB, between National Grid Refs TL 3167 8841, TL 3193 8873 and TL 3210 8861, at Broadall’s Drove, Ramsey Forty Foot, 10. a drain of the Benwick IDB, between National Grid Refs TL 3101 8915 and TL 3164 8883, at Ramsey Mere; 11. a drain of the Benwick IDB and tributary ditch between National Grid Refs TL 3221 8891, TL 3224 8902 and TL 3191 8916, at Four Hundred Drove, Ramsey Forty Foot; 12. a drain of the Benwick IDB and a tributary ditch between National Grid Refs TL 3205 8959, TL 3238 8947 and TL 3232 8930, at Four Hundred Drove, Ramsey Forty Foot; 13. a ditch at National Grid Ref TL 3119 8956, at Mere Farm, Ramsey; 14. a drain of the Benwick IDB, between National Grid Refs TL 3158 9008 and TL 3190 9000, at Mere Farm, Ramsey; (All points 1 to 14 are in Ramsey parish, Huntingdonshire district, Cambridgeshire) 15. the River Nene (Old Course), between National Grid Refs TL 3534 9344 and TL 3190 9313, at Floods Ferry, March; and 16. a drain of the Benwick IDB, between National Grid Refs TL 3428 8952 and TL 3415 8946, at land in Ramsey Road, Benwick. (Points 15 and 16 are in Benwick parish, Fenland district, Cambridgeshire.) The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 68 cubic metres per hour, 680 cubic metres per day and 9,864 cubic metres per year, between 1 April and 30 September each year. The water will be used for spray irrigation. This application is for a replacement for Licence Serial No 6/33/53/S/551, which expires on 30 September 2003, with added abstraction points and areas on which the water may be used but with no increase in the quantities abstracted. A copy of the applicatioin and of any map, plans or other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at “Fresh Fields”, Benwick Road, Ramsey, during the period beginning 29 March 2003 and ending on 27 April 2003.
