THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (REARSBY BYPASS CLASSIFIED ROAD) (SIDE ROADS) ORDER 2002

The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that he has confirmed with modifications the above Order which was made by Leicestershire County Council under sections 14 and 125 of the Highways Act 1980 and which, as confirmed, authorises the Council to: (a) carry out the improvement of highways, (b) stop up highways, (c) construct new highways, (d) stop up private means of access to premises, and (e) provide new means of access to premises all on or in the vicinity of the classified road being the highway which the Council proposes to construct from a point 65 metres east of the centre-line of the existing roundabout at the junction of Melton Road, Rearsby Road, and the Syston Northern Bypass (A607) in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 3,570 metres to a point on Melton Road (A607) as proposed to be improved at its junction with the access to Brooksby Grange Farm. Copies of the Order (as confirmed) and of the relevant plans may be inspected free of charge, during all reasonable hours at the offices of Leicestershire County Council, County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester; Charnwood Borough Council, Southfields, Loughborough and Melton Council, Nottingham Road, Melton Mowbray and also during opening hours at Syston Library, Upper Church Street, Syston, Leicester. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or of any regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 20 March 2003, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
