APPLICATION FOR AN ORDER AUTHORISING THE DIVERSION OF THE FOOTPATH BETWEEN NORTHAMPTON ROAD AND CHURCH LANE (PART OF FOOTPATH 92 ON THE DEFINITIVE MAP) NEWTON HEATH (IN THE HARPURHEY WARD), MANCHESTER

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Manchester, intend to apply to the Magistrates’ Court sitting at the Court House, Crown Square, Manchester, on Thursday 17 April 2003, at 2.00 pm, for an Order under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the highway specified in Part 1 of the Schedule hereto to be diverted to the route described in Part 2 of the Schedule hereto so as to make it more commodious to the public. A plan showing the said highway and the proposed diversion may be inspected, without payment at my office Room 601 between the hours of 9.00 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays. Any person who would be aggrieved by the making of the said Order may appear before the Court and make objections or representations thereto. Any person intending to attend the hearing of the application is requested to inform me, quoting Ref L/MF/EVD5001/389, before the date of the hearing of their intention to appear. Schedule Part 1 The footpath running from Point A on the plan 215 metres west of the centre of the roundabout at the junction of Northampton Road and Lightbowne Road, Newton Heath (in the Harpurhey Ward), Manchester (adjacent to the former site of Number 53 Northampton Road) for 240 metres in a northerly direction across the former site of Moston Brook High School to Point B then in a north-easterly direction for 115 metres to Point C on the south-western footway of Church Lane 14 metres south-east of the junction of Church Lane and Honister Road. Part 2 From Point A for a distance of 105 metres in a north-easterly direction along the northern footway of Northampton Road to Point F, and then for a further 60 metres along a to be constructed 1.8 metre wide footpath to Point E, then in a generally northerly direction along a to be constructed 3 metre wide footpath for a distance of 175 metres to Point D, located 205 metres north-west of the junction of Church Lane and Lightbowne Road on the existing south-western footway of Church Lane, and then for a further 150 metres in a north-westerly direction along the existing south-western footway of Church Lane to meet with Point C, located 14 metres south-east of the junction with Honister Road. 19 March 2003.
