THE LEWISHAM (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (NO 1) TRAFFIC ORDER 2003

1. Notice is hereby given that Lewisham Council made this Traffic Order under the provisions of section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 11 March 2003. The Order comes into force on 31 March 2003. 2. The general nature and effect of the Order is to introduce one-way traffic operation for all vehicles in New King Street and part of Prince Street: (a) prohibiting any vehicle from proceeding in New King Street in any other than a southerly direction; and (b) prohibiting any vehicle from proceeding in Prince Street between its junctions with Czar Street and New King Street in any other that an easterly direction. 3. Exemption is provided in the Order for ambulance, fire brigade and police vehicles in an emergency and anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform. 4. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order and measures can be inspected between the hours of 10.00 am and 4.00 pm on Mondays to Fridays at the offices of Lewisham Highways Development, Wearside Service Centre (Fleet Building 1st Floor), Wearside Road, London SE13 (telephone 020 8314 2265). 5. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument or relevant regulation made under the Act has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
