Notice is hereby given that at a Meeting of its Cabinet held on 10 February 2003, Mid Sussex District Council designated certain land in East Grinstead in the county of West Sussex described below and shown in detail on drawing No EG/CA/1 as a Conservation Area to be known as the Estcots and East Court Conservation Area. The Estcots and East Court Conservation Area includes East Court Mansion and its grounds, East Court Lodge, Estcots Farmhouse, Estcots Barn and Escots Cottage, all off College Lane, East Grinstead, West Sussex. A Conservation Area is an area of special architectural or historic interest, the character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance. In a Conservation Area it is an offence to: 1. demolish certain buildings except with the consent of the Local Planning Authrority; 2. cut down top, lop, uproot or wilfully damage or destroy a tree without due notice being given to the Local Planning Authority. Copies of the said drawing showing the boundary of the Conservation Area have been deposited at the Environment Directorate, Mid Sussex District Council, Oaklands, Oaklands Road, Haywards Heath and may be inspected, free of charge, by all interested persons from Monday to Thursday between the hours of 9.00 am to 5.00 pm and on Friday between the hours of 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.
