NOTICE OF APPLICATIONS TO STOP UP PART OF SOAP HOUSE LANE, WOODHOUSE AND TO DIVERT PART OF RAWSON SPRING ROAD, OWLERTON, SHEFFIELD

Notice is hereby given that the Sheffield City Council being the Highway Authority for the said City intend to apply to the Magistrates’ Court sitting at Castle Street, Sheffield, on 24 April 2003 at 11.00 am for two Orders, under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980, authorising that the area of highway described in Part 1 of the Schedule below be stopped up on the ground that it is unnecessary and the area of highway described in Part 2 of the Schedule below be diverted on the ground that it will make it nearer to the public. The effect of the Orders is shown on the Plans, which may be inspected free of charge at the First Stop Reception, Communications Service, Town Hall, Pinstone Street, Sheffield S1 2HH, at all reasonable hours. On the hearing of the applications any person who is interested in land abutting on or served by the said areas of highway or uses the said areas of highway or is otherwise aggrieved shall have a right to be heard. Schedule Part 1 1. To stop up a length of Soap House Lane extending from the south side of No 121 John Hibbard Avenue in a general south-easterly direction to its termination. Part 2 1. To divert a length of Rawson Spring Road extending from its cul-de-sac end for approximately 105 metres in a general south-westerly direction on to a new line, forming a turning facility, to the west of the aforementioned length of Rawson Spring Road.
