NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Laing Utilities Limited, of Barford Road, St Neots, Cambridgeshire, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from The River Thames at National Grid Ref SU 60858 91792, 500 metres west of Benson, Oxfordshire. The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 350 cubic metres per hour, 8,000 cubic metres per day, 16,000 cubic metres (total), between 28 July 2003 and 12 September 2003. The water will be used for hydrostatic testing of a new 900 millimetre gas pipeline between Chalgove and East Ilsley, after which it will be returned to the River. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Fullamoor Farm, Clifton, Hampden, Oxfordshire OX14 3DD, between 14 March 2003 and 14 April 2003. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Isis House, Howbery Park, Wallingford, Oxfordshire OX10 8BD, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
