DISABLED PERSONS PARKING PLACES—SCHEDULES 80 AND 81

1 Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Croydon propose to make the Croydon (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (No A6) Traffic Order 2003 under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991.
2 The general effect of the Order woiuld be to:

(a) revoke the disabled parking places located outside No 65 Barmouth Road, Shirley, outside No 17 Boulogne Road, Croydon, outside No 27 Cecil Road, Croydon, outside No 8 Dale Park Road, Upper Norwood, outside No 3 Everton Road, Addiscombe, outside No 34 Mayfield Road, Thornton Heath, outside No 1 Oaklands Avenue, Thornton Heath, outside No 50 Sangley Road, South Norwood, outside No 56 Stratford Road, Thornton Heath and outside No 15 Zermatt Road, Thornton Heath.
(b) designate new parking places in Arnhem Drive, New Addington (outside No 113, 45 degrees to the kerb), Ashley Road, Thornton Heath (outside No 44), Beaconsfield Road, Croydon (outside No 49), Bruce Drive, Selsdon (outside Nos 13-15), Cecil Road, Croydon (outside No 42), Chipstead Avenue, Thornton Heath (outside No 40), Cooper Road, Waddon (outside No 43), Coventry Road, South Norwood (opposite Nos 16 and 18), Croham Park Avenue, South Croydon (outside No 21, converting an existing free parking bay), Exeter Road, Croydon (outside No 64), Forge Avenue, Old Coulsdon (outside No 1), Granville Close, Croydon (outside Nos 34-36/37-39 Heathfield Road, Croydon (outside No 1, converting existing pay and display bay), Holmesdale Road, Selhurst (outside No 224), Hunter Road, Thornton Heath (outside No 69), Jarvis Road, South Croydon (outside No 26), Kemble Road, Waddon (outside Nos 13 and 15), Kemerton Road, Addiscombe (outside No 11), Lakehall Gardens, Thornton Heath (outside No 9), Lakehall Road, Thornton Heath (outside No 65), Longhurst Road, Croydon (outside Nos 5 and 7), Meadvale Road, Croydon (outside No 29), Melfort Road, Thornton Heath (outside No 254, 2 wheels up on footway), Montpelier Road, Purley (outside No 39, 2 wheels up on footway), Northbrook Road, Selhurst (outside No 38), Sanderstead Road, South Croydon (outside Nos 19 and 21), Selhurst Road, Selhurst (outside and opposite the Croydon Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2 bays), Shepherds Way, Selsdon (outside No 45, 2 wheels up on footway), Stratford Road, Thornton Heath (outside No 61), Waddon Close, Waddon (outside No 21) and Westbourne Road, Addisbombe (outside No 28);
(c) provide that the parking places would operate “At Any Time”;
(d) specify, in respect of the parking places, that disabled persons’ vehicles displaying in the relevant position a disabled persons’ badge issued by any local authority under the provisions of the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) Regulations 1975, 1982, or 2000 as amended, may be left therein; and
(e) provide that certain vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, eg to allow persons to board or alight (maximum 2 minutes), to load or unload (maximum 20 minutes), etc.

3 A copy of the proposed Order and of all related Orders, of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make this Order and of the plans which indicate each length of road to which the Order relates, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the last day of a period of 6 weeks beginning with the date on which the Order is made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, at the Enquiry Counter, “One-Stop” Facility, Ground Floor, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey.

5 Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Parking and Technical Services, Planning and Transportation Department, London Borough of Croydon, 1st Floor Davis House, Robert Street, Croydon CR0 1QQ, quoting the Ref T&P/PS/JAA/13/T6 by 3 April 2003.
