1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets under the Highways (Road Hump) Regulations 1999 and the Highways Act 1980 (as amended by the Road Traffic Act 1991) is considering, as part of the London wide Congestion Charging Scheme, a traffic calming proposal to install speed tables and raised entry treatments in the northern part of Weavers Ward, Bethnal Green. 2. The general effect of the traffic calming proposals will be to provide: (a) speed tables at the junctions of Columbia Road/Gosset Street and Wellington Row/Barnet Grove; (b) speed tables in the following roads: Pelter Street north of Cuff point; Diss Street by Vaughan Estate; in Quilter Street 45 metres east of Elwin Street; in Durant Street 25 metres north of Quilter Street and Durant Street 20 metres north of Wimbolt Street; in Wellington Row 25 metres east of Ravenscroft Street; (c) raised entry treatments at the following junctions: Diss Street, Ravenscroft Street and Ropley Street at their junctions with Hackney Road; each end of Shipton Street at its junction with Ravenscroft Street and Columbia Road; in Horatio Street by Shipton Street; in Ropley Street by Columbia Road; in Ezra Street by Ravenscroft Street; at each end of Baxendale Street at its junction with Barnet Grove and Durant Street; at each end of Wimbolt Street at its junction with Barnet Grove and Durant Street; in Quilter Street at its junction with Barnet Grove, Durant Street and Ravenscroft Street. 3. A copy of a drawing showing the proposed traffic calming can be inspected by appointment at the offices of Customer Services, Strategic Traffic Section, Southern Grove Lodge, Southern Grove, London E3 4PN, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the expiration of a period of 14 days from the date on which this notice is published. 4. Any person desiring to comment on the proposed traffic calming should send a statement in writing to the above address within the aforementioned period of 14 days.
