NOTICE OF APPLICATIONS FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that J A & E Brooke, Lower Penalt, Kings Caple, Herefordshire HR1 4UQ, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from:

1. An un-named ditch at National Grid Ref SO 5575 2797 at Pennoxstone Field, Kings Caple, Hereford.
2. An un-named ditch at National Grid Ref SO 5632 2860 at Seven Acre Bank, Kings Caple, Hereford.
3. An un-named ditch at National Grid Ref SO 5742 2967 at Lower Penalt, Kings Caple, Hereford.

The proposal is to abstract water between 31 October and 1 April each year at each site and at the following rates:

13 cubic metres per hour, 303 cubic metres per day, 9,100 cubic metres per year.

4. It is also proposed to abstract water from The River Wye at any point between National Grid Ref SO 5872 3272 and SO 5490 2958 and any point between SO 5490 2940 and SO 5861 2878 between 31 October and 1 April each year at the following rates:

46 cubic metres per hour, 460 cubic metres per day, 9,100 cubic metres per year.

The water will be used for winter storage and subsequent spray irrigation purposes.

5. It is also proposed to abstract water from The River Wye at any point between National Grid Ref SO 5872 3272 and SO 5490 2958 and any point between SO 5490 2940 and SO 5861 2878 between 1 April and 31 October each year at the following rates:

46 cubic metres per hour, 460 cubic metres per day, 9,100 cubic metres per year.

The water is requred for spray irrigation purposes.

6. It is also proposed to abstract 534 cubic metres a year, 534 cubic metres a day, 181 cubic metres an hour from The River Wye at National Grid Ref SO 5560 3028.

The water is required for agricultural purposes to fill a horse exercise pool.

A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Lower Penalt, Kings Caple, Herefordshire HR1 4UQ, between 27 February 2003 and 27 March 2003.
Any person who wishes to make representations about the applications should do so in writing to the Environment Agency Wales, Hadnock Road, Monmouth NP25 3NQ, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
