TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES—UNION STREET

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Southwark, in accordance with the Highways Act 1980 as amended by the Transport Act 1981 and the Traffic Calming Act 1984 and in compliance with the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1996 intend to place speed cushions and tables in Union Street. All speed cushions will be 3.7 metres in length, 1.6 metres wide and 0.075 metres in height. The location of the speed cushions in Union Street are outlined in Schedule 1 where the cushions are arranged in rows of three and in Schedule 2 where the cushions are arranged in rows of two. A speed table will be located in Union Street at Ayres Street. It will be 0.075 metres high and span the width of Union Street. The location of the speed table is outlined in Schedule 3. (b) 40 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Pepper Street. Schedule 2 Speed Cushion in row of two (a) 37 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Great Suffolk Street of its junction with the northern kerbline of Union Street. (b) 7 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Risborough Street of its junction with the southern kerbline of Union Street. (c) 18 metres east of the eastern kerbline of O’Meara Street of its junction with the northern kerbline of Union Street. (d) 27 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Redcross Way of its junction with the northern kerbline of Union Street. (e) 73 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Redcross Way of its junction with the southern kerbline of Union Street. Schedule 3 Speed Table at 4 Arms Junction (Union Street/Ayres Street) (a) 48 metres east of the southern kerbline of Union Street (north arm) and 44 metres east of the southern kerbline of Union Street (south arm) for a distance of 18 metres eastward.
