THE A167 TRUNK ROAD (JUNCTION 59 OF THE A1(M) TO JUNCTION 63 OF THE A1(M)) (DETRUNKING) ORDER 2003

The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980, entitled the A167 Trunk Road (Junction 59 of the A1(M) to Junction 63 of the A1(M)) (Detrunking) Order 2003 which provides that a length of the A167 Trunk Road shall cease to be a Trunk Road, and shall be classified as a principal road, as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the Durham County Council (which will become the highway authority responsible for that length) that the Order has come into force which is to be 1 April 2003. Copies of the Order and the plan referred to in it have been deposited at the Highways Agency, Romney House, Information Point, Ground Floor, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3HW; at the offices of the Highways Agency, Operations Division, 8th Floor East, City House, New Station Street, Leeds LS1 4UR and Durham County Council, County Hall, Durham DH1 5UQ. Copies of the Order can be purchased through booksellers or direct from government bookshops (The Stationery Office). The A167 Trunk Road (Junction 59 of the A1(M) to Junction 63 of the A1(M)) (Detrunking) Order 2003 is numbered SI 2003/125 and is priced £1.50. Any person aggrieved by the Order mentioned in this notice who desires to question its validity, or the validity of any provision in it, on the grounds that: (a) it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, or (b) any requirement of that Act or of regulations made under that Act has not been complied with in relation to that Order, may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from the date of first publication of this notice.
