WATER RESOURCES ACT 1991: SCHEDULE 10 (AS AMENDED BY THE ENVIRONMENT ACT 1995)
NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 88
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 of the Water Resources Act
1991 (as amended by the Environment Act 1995) that an application has been made to
the Environment Agency by Yorkshire Water Services Ltd, Western House, Halifax Road,
Bradford BD6 2LZ, for consent to discharge sewage effluent under emergency conditions
from Stillington Road Sewage Pumping Station, Low Inhams, Stillington, North Yorkshire,
into an unnamed dyke (tributary of Whitecarr Beck) at National Grid Ref SE 5854 6530.
The application is in respect of an existing sewage pumping station which has recently
been upgraded and which is fitted with an alarm, standby pump, generator socket (for
use in times of mains electricity supply failure) and an overpumping facility, and
which will provide 4 hours’ storage at dry weather flow, in order to minimise the
frequency of any emergency discharge.
Any person who wishes to make representations or objections with respect to the application
should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Coverdale House, Aviator Court,
Clifton Moor, York YO30 4GZ, for the attention of Peter Baker, quoting Ref 27/24/0266,
not later than 18 April 2003.
A copy of the application may be inspected, free of charge, at the above local Environment
Agency office on weekdays between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm up to 18 April 2003.
