STOPPING-UP OF A LENGTH OF FINSBURY SQUARE AND OF A LENGTH OF CHISWELL STREET, LONDON EC1
The Council of the London Borough of Islington hereby gives notice that it has made
an Order under section 247 of the above Act as amended by Schedule 22 of the Greater
London Authority Act 1999 entitled “The Stopping-Up of Highways (London Borough of
Islington) (No 4) Order 2003” authorising the stopping-up of the highway described
in the Schedule below.
A copy of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, by writing to the Council quoting
Ref TT at the Department of Law and Public Services, Town Hall, Upper Street, London
N1 2UD, or may be inspected at all reasonable hours at that address.
Any person aggrieved by the Order and who wishes to question its validity on the
grounds that it is not within the powers of the Town and Country Planning Act, or
that any relevant requirements have not been complied with in relation to the Order,
may, within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this notice, apply to the High Court
for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any of its provisions.

Schedule
The length of Finsbury Square to be stopped up
A strip of footway on the west side of the western arm of Finsbury Square, London
EC2, 1.78 metres wide and 36.9 metres long perpendicularly and directly in front of
1-2 Finsbury Square.
The length of Chiswell Street to be stopped up
A strip of footway on the north side of Chiswell Street, London EC1, 28.7 metres
long, perpendicularly and directly in front of 1-3 Chiswell Street, and varying in
width from 1 metre at the eastern edge of 1-2 Finsbury Square, to 1.35 metres at the
western edge of 1-3 Chiswell Street.
