THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (BUS PRIORITY) (NO 1, 1999) (AMENDMENT NO 8) ORDER 2003
BUCKINGHAM PALACE ROAD

1. Notice is hereby given that the Westminster City Council on 5 March 2003, made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985. 2. The general effect of the Bus Priority Order is to create a northbound bus lane available for use by buses, taxis and cycles on the north-west side of Buckingham Palace Road (between a point 71 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerbline of Elizabeth Street and a point 38 metres south-west of the south-western kerbline of Eccleston Street) which operates 24 hours a day throughout the week. 3. The general effect of the Prescribed Routes Order is to: (a) remove those parts of the Buckingham Palace Road contra flow bus lane which lie between Semley Place and Eccleston Street; (b) return Buckingham Palace Road to two-way working between Semley Place and Eccleston Street; (c) prohibit the right turn by vehicles (other than buses, taxis, pedal cycles and dia-a-ride buses) from Buckingham Palace Road into Elizabeth Bridge. 4. Copies of the Orders, which will come into force on 10 March 2003, and of other documents giving more detailed particulars about the Order can be inspected between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm on Mondays to Fridays until 16 April 2003 at Parkman Ltd., Third Floor, Mountbarrow House, 6-20 Elizabeth Street, London SW1W 9RB. 5. Any person desiring to question the validity of either of the Orders, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to either of the Orders may make application for the purpose to the High Court by 15 April 2003.
