1. Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. 2. The principal objective of this Order is to prevent large vehicles using The Gallop (westbound only) and Crossways (eastbound only), and improve road safety and the environment. 3. The general effect of this Order will be to introduce width restrictions of 2.13 metres (7 feet) in: (a) Crossways (15 metres east of its junction with Langley Park Road); and (b) The Gallop (outside Nos 10 and 12 The Gallop). 4. Full details of the proposals are contained in the following documents: (a) the draft Order; (b) the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order; and (c) a plan indicating the location and effect of the proposals. These may be examined at: Civic Offices, St Nicholas Way, Sutton: 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. Environmental and Leisure, 24 Denmark Road, Carshalton: 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. 5. Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Construction and Property Consultancy on 020 8770 6445. 6. If you wish to object to the proposed Order you should send a statement in writing, including the grounds for your objection and quoting Ref TR392 to the following address by Wednesday 2 April 2003. 7. Persons objecting to the proposed Order should be made aware that in view of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, this Council would be legally obliged to make any comments received in response to this notice open to public inspection, if requested.
