THE ISLINGTON (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) (NO ) ORDER 200

1. Notice is hereby given that the London Borough of Islington propose to make the above-mentioned Order under section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991. The general effect of the Order would be to reduce vehicle speeds and therefore improve safety by introducing a 20 mph speed limit zone on Aubert Road, Avenell Road, Conewood Street, Elphinstone Street, Elwood Road, Gillespie Road (from the junction with Blackstock Road, south-westwards to the south-western kerbline of St Thomas’s Road), Hurlock Street, Legard Road, Lucern Road and Plimsoll Road (from the junction with Gillespie Road, southwards to the junction with Elwood Street). 2. A copy of the proposed Order, of plans indicating details of the above-mentioned measures and of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order, can be inspected during normal office hours until the end of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made at the following location: Transport and Design, 222 Upper Street, Islington, London N1 1YA. 3. Further information may be obtained by telephoning Transport and Design on 020 7527 2137. 4. Any objections to the proposed Order should be sent in writing to Bram Kainth, Assistant Director of Traffic and Transportation, PO Box 3333, 222 Upper Street, London N1 1YA within a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published.
